Enforcment and bankruptcy

Our specialist lawyers for enforcement and bankruptcy combine expertise in litigation and in-depth knowledge of our core industry sectors. They make sure that the enforcement, or defence, of a claim is done in an efficient and cost effective way.

Our lawyers regularly advise our clients in relation to the enforcement of their claims, in particular those arising out of a foreign judgment or award. We also assist in enforcing domestic judgments and awards. Measures taken can include attaching the debtor's assets, representing our creditor clients in debt enforcement as well as bankruptcy and composition proceedings in Switzerland, sitting on creditors' committees and/or instigating liability proceedings against directors and officers of the debtor company.

By contrast our lawyers have also represented alleged debtors in defending unfounded claims. We have also assisted clients in financial difficulties with the reorganisation and/or recapitalisation of their business or, where necessary, by applying for a moratorium on debt restructuring.
